My little brother has a 2009 lancer for his first car, and I recently got to drive it for a brief distance (about 2.5 miles) and this is my quick review of it.
The accelerator is awful, I mean like the star wars prequels awful.
The power steering was decent, it was at least better than my dads 2001 civic. God I hated the steering on that thing...
Braking was good for a commuter car.
Would I recommend this car to friends/fellow opponauts: no (unless the accelerator issues were exclusive to this particular car, then maybe.)

Is it a DE trim CVT model?

I believe it is an es-sport (es with gts body kit) with cvt.

So the accelerator is crappy for the first 2/3 and ends pretty well?

My mom has the same generation Civic. I can attest that the steering is TERRIBLE.

So it's drive by wire? Adjustable?

Haven't checked, and really I don't care enough to do anything about it. (I'm probably never going to be driving it again)

nope, I was going to say avatar: the last airbender movie level of bad, but I wasn't sure how many people would get it.

I'm pretty sure all modern cars have dispensed with the throttle cable, but this is an area I know little about.

Ahhhh. Yeah, for some reason, this engine gets a billion times better when it's fleshed out to a 2.4 in GTS trim. The 2.0 is a bit tired.
Other than that, yay Lancer!
